What is Emergency Mode?
Emergency Mode allows your child to send an SOS alert to you, via the App. The moment the SOS alert is triggered, the Messenger immediately springs into action:
A notification will be sent to your App, along with any other users that have view permission for that Messenger.
Opening the App will take you directly to the locator page, centred on your Messenger. You can message directly from this screen whilst in Emergency Mode.
Rapid Location Tracking: The Messenger will start publishing its location every 15 seconds, allowing you to track your child's exact movements in near real-time.
Messages from other Chats will stop being delivered to make sure that your message gets through first and your chat isn't interrupted.
We recommend testing this feature with your child so that they know how to use it in case they ever need to.
Activating Emergency Mode
On a Messenger 1 device, press and hold the CH button and Volume- buttons together for 5 seconds. The light will flash red and blue to indicate that it has gone into Emergency mode. This will repeat every 30 seconds.
On a Messenger 2 device, press the Chat down button (V) and the Volume- buttons together for 3 seconds. The dot display will show "SOS" once Emergency mode is active.
Deactivating Emergency Mode
To deactivate Emergency Mode, your child can press the same buttons again for 5 seconds, or you can do this via your App by tapping the SOS icon in the locator screen and selecting 'End SOS Mode'.
